Dear parents and players of junior ice hockey
As you may have already noticed the marketing for the AllStar Game on Monday 30 Nov, and if you were wondering whether or not to come with your kids and watch, please take this email into consideration.
In order for junior players to become great hockey players, there needs to be a balance of practicing hockey and watching hockey. The previous generation was lucky to have the NHL [largest professional ice hockey league in the world] shown on ESPN on a daily basis, where they would see the way the pros skate, shoot, position themselves on the ice, etc. This was also a great learning curve for players as they could see and learn while watching a decent game, at speed, and have a great time too.
We urge all of the parents and players to come support, but mainly to get into the game, learn the game and see what a proper hockey game looks like. Parents who look at the older players such as Gareth Miller, Dean Magmoed, Andre Marias and Michael Fraquet and wonder how they became such good hockey players; well it is because they use to watch as many games as possible.
Now you and your kids have that same chance, and they can watch it LIVE. We have designed it so that it is held on a hockey night [where you all are able to come] and is at a reasonable time, accommodating the young kids that attend school and have to be in bed early. We hope that as many of you will come and watch as possible, and to make things that extra GREAT, players can dress in their provincial tracksuits or come and wear their Sharks, Eagles or Rams jerseys...
This support will be greatly appreciated and we can guarantee a truly entertaining evening, full of awesome hockey, intermission entertainment and definitely a night to remember.
Tickets are R20 per person and they are available either at the door on the night.
